Updated October 20, 2026 · 5 min read
If you are travelling on from Tangier and want to see Chefchaouen on the way, the 1- or 2-Day Transfer via Chefchaouen to Fès at €66.45 is the simplest single booking. It has 4.6 stars from 104 reviews and lets you choose between a same-day journey and an overnight stay in Chefchaouen. If you only need to reach Chefchaouen, a €29 one-way transfer is cheaper. If Fès is all you want, the train is cheaper still.

The summary of the shared transfer mentions hotel pick-up and a choice of two meeting points. The private transfer offers door-to-door pickup at your hotel, the airport or an address. The offer feed lists all four prices as “per person”. For the private transfer at €147.13, still check the booking page to see whether the price is per person or per vehicle, since it changes the comparison for a family or a group.

Public transport
On the comparison site Rome2rio, the CTM bus from Tangier to Chefchaouen takes about 2.5 hours, the same as the transfers. To Fès, the direct ONCF train is listed at about 4 hours 13 minutes, five times a day, at roughly €11 to €23, and a route via Kenitra at under four hours. A direct CTM bus to Fès is listed at around 6 hours 45 minutes. These are listing figures, not timetables; check ONCF and CTM before you travel.
The trade-off is simple. Public transport is cheaper and perfectly workable for Fès. Chefchaouen is the awkward one, because it is not on the train line. A transfer that stops there, with time for the blue streets, is what you are paying for.
If you only want Chefchaouen
Do not book a transfer for a day trip. A return trip on the same day is better served by a guided day trip; we compare them in our Chefchaouen guide and list them on the Chefchaouen day trips page. A transfer only makes sense if you are sleeping in Chefchaouen or moving on from it.
Or drive yourself
A rental car gives you freedom for stops between the two towns. You can compare rental cars for Tangier. Check the excess and what the CDW covers with the provider, and consider whether you want to drive in the mountains and return the car in Tangier. For a one-way trip to Fès, ask about one-way fees.
Our recommendation
Book the transfer via Chefchaouen to Fès if you are continuing to Fès and want the stop. Take the €29 transfer if Chefchaouen is the destination. Otherwise take the train. All one-way options are on the transfers page.
